Contrary Creek, Mineral VA
I got out on Contrary Creek early this morning, about 5:45 a.m. I like getting out there early, getting set up, then watching the sun come up. It was pretty cold there this morning, and Buccaneer was there early to share the pain! We got downstream and got set up, I stayed above the 2nd Tailing Pile, and Buc was below it.

Gordon and Steve arrived a little bit later in the morning. Steve and I were dredging, and Buc and Gordon were sluicing. The sun didn't come out until after 4:00 pm, and it never did warm up. I've been out on that creek on cold days, but I think today takes the cake.

We had a good time and found some gold. Here's some picturs of a picker stuck on bedrock, and the same piece in the cons.

Steve worked his 3" Proline Dredge, and found a very nice piece that is shaped like the state of PA!

Contrary in the early morning.

Good ole Buccaneer is a gold magnet! It was good to see someone else out there that early in the morning! Here's some pictures of Buc's in action, and a picture of the first thing (besides his shovel) that his gold sees before hitting his snuffer bottle.
